The iPhone 3GS

I recently upgraded from my Samsung Strive, which admittedly was a great phone, to the iPhone 3GS.

This little sucker is pretty cool I must say, I've always heard that iPhones were over-rated.
As it turns out, they're not. They're pretty doggone cool, and they've got the coolest apps! Even if half of the apps (not a real statistic, just an estimate) are useless games, they're pretty fun! Like, Angry Birds, which was the number 1 app in the store for a while, it looks kind of silly, but it's actually worth the $1.

My next step would be protection, I plan on purchasing the Ottorbox defender series case for the 3GS, because I can be rather clumsy.

I also purchased a new pellet rifle, a Daisy powerline 35, and a cheap scope from Wal-Mart.
It's really handy! Very accurate, and easy to use. Although, I did screw it up, I thought it'd be fun to put multiple bullets down the barrel, and shoot it like a shotgun. Well, it jammed the gun. So I had to take apart the barrel, and push out the bullets. Lesson learned. It still works, but isn't as dead-on accurate. Oh well, it's still a very fun rifle. And, I don't mean to brag, but I can shoot a quarter sized target, 5 times, from 30 feet. :)

Thanksgiving meals!

Today was certainly a very fun day. After waking up, my friend and I shot our BB rifles in my backyard, we had our own little competition.
As my mom prepared the turkey, which was now in the oven, we (my mom, older sister, and her two kids) drove to Wal-Mart for some last minute things. Which turned into buying a pair of work boots, drinks, some lights for the backyard, and some other miscellaneous stuff.

By late afternoon, the pinnacle of the holiday began. DINNER!! My mom (Yes, I still live with my mom, I'm 19, work at a grocery store, and rent is a little high elsewhere.) prepared a delicious turkey, with mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, delicious bread rolls, and broccoli salad.

All in all, a wonderful day. We are very thankful for family, and you should be to. Whether or not you're not on the best terms with them, they're family, and should be appreciated as such.
What did you have for dinner today? What are you thankful for? I would greatly appreciate your response!

Thankfulness.

Again, I've missed a day, but I am kind of busy. While that's no excuse, I do have things to get done.

One major thing in my life would be my parents, I love them will all that is within me. I am very thankful for everything they've done. I was one hell of a kid, I was always getting into mischief, and breaking things. I was quite the handful, so I really am thankful for all their patience.

I'm quite thankful for my job, and my house. There are lots of places, even in America, where people simply don't have any means of paying bills. Or worse, don't have a place to sleep.
And so, I wish you all a happy thanksgiving, and I hope you have a great time with your family.

Being thankful, day one.

Hello, been quite a while since my last post. I've been rather busy lately, but anyway, here we go.

I'd like to challenge anyone who reads this, to make a list this week, about what you're thankful for, each day this week.

I'd like to start, with life, in America, life period. To think that, I could have been born in a different area, with different parents, a different way of life. Not just in the States, but what if it were in an undeveloped country? What if we (You, the reader, and I) were born in an area where disease, and crime run rampant, where it's hard to get a single glass of clean water?

But on a less extreme note, what if you were born in another state? Or maybe born in the same area, but with parents who abused you? Or parents who didn't?

So, overall, I'm just thankful for my family, and for the love they, and God, have given me.

Pets!

Did you know; pets can be great stress relievers?
Have you ever had one of those days, where everything seems to be going wrong? Well, pets can't fix everything, but they sure can give you comfort, and love.
As I write this, my four year old cat, Streaky, lays next to the computer.

For me, pets are more than animals, they're like a part of the family!

Whether you've got a dog, or a cat, or some other lil' (or big) critter, they sure can make life a little better.

I love my cat, and my dog very much. They're absolutely part of the family!

And so, I wish you all a great night.

Salute to the veterans!

Sorry for the late post, I was busy today and went to Chili's with my parents, who are veterans.

Now, I don't know about you guys, but I love our soldiers. Without them, we wouldn't have the simple freedoms we take for granted every day!

They really sacrifice a lot, their time, their effort...

I think they need more glory than one day per year.

I say we have a brief moment of silence everyday.
We need to keep them in our prayers, not worship them, but they do deserve some glory.

Hopefully we can end our wars soon, but their sacrifices sure won't go unnoticed with me!

Fire arms

Hey guys.

Where do you stand on gun control? I personally think firearms are just fine. While they can be misused, if used correctly, they can be life savers.

I've been exposed to firearms since I was around 12. My dad purchased me an airsoft gun.
That's similar to what my first gun looked like.

Some say these are toys, they kind of are, but they can also be a great training tool.
By teaching a child to treat every firearm as if it were loaded, even if they're sure it's not, is definitely a start.
You can further their education in firearms by taking them to gun shows. Most gun shows have training classes.
But, the best way to train a child, or anyone interested in shooting, is to first start with an airsoft/BB gun; and take 'em outback and have them shoot at a target.

Some things to remember:
You should never point a gun at anyone.

Before shooting, be sure of your target, and whats behind it. Often, projectiles can miss/go through your target and hit what's behind it. I.E. your neighbor, if you shoot in your backyard.

Treat every gun as if it were loaded. Much trouble can be prevented by simply keeping the muzzle away from anything you don't want to shoot. Which brings us to the next tip;

Don't point your gun at anything you don't want to shoot.

NEVER mix alcohol and guns!! Even if you've only had one beer, that beer still impairs your judgment!

So again, if you train someone well about shooting, and firearms safety, shooting can be a very relaxing and fun sport.

If we take guns away from our law-abiding citizens, that just means we can't fight back!
Sure, it will lower crime rates a bit, but if a bad guy really wants to get a hold of one, he certainly can.

Since then, I've purchased a Taurus 24/7 9MM pistol, which I take shooting frequently.
Which looks like this.

And so, in conclusion, I'd like to say, go buy a gun. When used properly, they're great stress relievers, and a very fun thing to do.
And so, I encourage you all to be safe, and have a great day!

Modern Cell Phones and Technology

Here's another simple one, but I just coined it a few minutes ago. Has it ever occurred to you, that cell phones, are far more powerful than the computers used to send the first shuttle into space? I know it's like an everyday thing, to use a cell phone, but think about it: That device; that computer that you have in your hand, is pretty damn powerful. And the fact that one can talk to someone on the other side of the globe almost instantly, and without wires, is INSANE!

We are truly blessed in this day and age. While technology can be a hindrance at times, it can be a major blessing, and make life a little easier. The fact that I can hit 'Safari' on my iPhone, and Google something, and have an answer within seconds, is INCREDIBLE!

I suppose moral of the story is, be thankful for every little thing you've got. Because no matter what, it can be much worse.

First day here

Well, I broke down, I finally started a blog. Now, I just need to get my friends onto blogger. Now I can stop spamming facebook with my posts. xD

Well, I suppose I'll keep this updated when I can.
